Both the kings and people of Israel sinned against God, with prophets who spoke out against these evils and called Israel to turn back to God.  We see how Israel’s sin led to the nation’s exile, until God called up more prophets for Israel to turn back to God.</p>

These scrolls were held by a group of priests who had departed from the rest of the priests in Israel.  When Rome destroyed Israel, these priests took the scrolls and hid them within caves.
