My main takeaway from this chapter was in the introduction. It is not how loud we pray or how energetic we are, but how sincere we are. We can be the loudest in the room, but not sincere in what we are praying for. God knows where our hearts are. He knows when we are being sincere or not.

Dueteronomy holds one of my favorite group of verses in the Bible. I am not a huge Old Testament reader, but Dueteronomy Chapter 6:4-9 will always be one of my favorites. This chapter concentrated on the book of Numbers. I found that the way God punished the Israelite elders to be quite fascinating. He forced the Israelites to wander for forty years in the desert until the older generation had completely wiped out. I never really connected why they wandered for forty years until really diving into the text.
