I mostly see a man called by God from a pagan culture [though God must of saw something in him] who&#8217;s faith &#8220;was growing, before complete&#8221; as witnessed by his decisions. We learn not to play with fire, when we experience the negative results of a burn. . . that&#8217;s how we should look at God&#8217;s chastisement.  </p>
