CE Kingdom Alignment

Welcome to Kingdom Alignment, a 14 week journey through Matthew 6 designed to help you bring your life into deeper alignment with the heart, priorities, and practices of the Kingdom of God. This course builds on the foundation we explored in Kingdom Influence. There, we discovered who we are in Christ and how our lives are meant to shine in the world. Now, we turn inward, asking an equally important question: how is that life formed within us?

In Matthew 6, Jesus invites us into a different kind of life. Not one driven by visibility, recognition, or outward performance, but one rooted in quiet faithfulness and genuine relationship with the Father. He speaks about giving, prayer, and fasting not as religious duties, but as pathways of transformation. He teaches us to seek first the Kingdom, to trust God with our needs, and to live with a singular, undivided heart. Kingdom alignment is about allowing these teachings to shape not just what we do, but who we are becoming.

Throughout this course, we will walk slowly and intentionally through the words of Jesus in Matthew 6. We will explore the hidden life of generosity, the depth and simplicity of prayer, and the refining work of fasting. We will consider what it means to store up treasures in heaven, to live free from anxiety, and to trust the Father who sees and knows. These are not abstract ideas. They are invitations into a life that is anchored, steady, and deeply formed in God.

As you move through the lessons, discussions, and readings, our prayer is that you will grow in attentiveness, trust, and surrender. This is not about adding more to your spiritual life. It is about bringing your whole life under the loving rule of God. He is inviting you into alignment, not through pressure, but through presence. And as your life aligns with His Kingdom, you will find that what flows outward is not striving, but a quiet, steady faithfulness that reflects His heart to the world.

About Instructor

Pastor Steve Lawes has been influenced over the course of his learning by the teaching of John Wimber, George Eldon Ladd, Rick Warren, John Piper, Tim Keller, NT Wright, Putty Putman, Michael Heiser, Bob Goff, Tim Mackie, and many others.
