Kingdom Coming Part 8

At Keys Vineyard Church, we are presenting a series called ‘Kingdom Coming,’ which we post here on Online Bible Institute.

We are in a series called Kingdom Coming. Last week, we looked at Isaiah Chapter 2 and discussed the mountain of Hope. This week, we will continue our Advent series by looking at Isaiah Chapter 9 and discussing peace.

Isaiah 9:6-7 (NIV)
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

This amazing passage from Isaiah encapsulates the profound truth that Jesus is the Prince of Peace, bringing a kingdom of unending tranquility and restoration.

The peace Jesus offers is not a fleeting emotion or circumstantial relief but a profound and enduring reality. His peace transcends human understanding because it flows from His very nature. As the Wonderful Counselor, He guides us with divine wisdom, helping us confidently navigate life’s complexities. His counsel calms our fears, reminding us that we are never alone, even in the midst of chaos.

Jesus’ identity as Mighty God assures us that the peace He gives is not weak or fragile. It is powerful and capable of overcoming any turmoil or adversary. When we face storms in our lives, we can trust in His omnipotence, knowing that He holds all things together. His strength enables us to find rest, even when our circumstances remain challenging.

As Everlasting Father, Jesus embodies an eternal love that brings stability and security. The peace He offers is rooted in His unchanging character. His fatherly care anchors our souls in a world marked by instability and unpredictability. We can find peace in the knowledge that He is with us, for us, and will never leave us.

Finally, as the Prince of Peace, Jesus establishes a kingdom where peace reigns supreme. Through His life, death, and resurrection, He reconciled us to God, breaking down the barriers of sin and enmity. This reconciliation offers us internal peace—a restored relationship with our Creator—and enables us to pursue peace with others.

Experiencing Jesus’s peace begins with surrender. When we trust Him, we allow His rule to govern our hearts. As Isaiah promises, His government brings endless peace. It is not contingent on worldly conditions but grows more profound as we grow closer to Him.

In a world filled with strife and uncertainty, Jesus’s peace is an unshakable foundation. By embracing His lordship and promises, we can live with confidence, joy, and a peace that reflects the nature of His eternal kingdom.

This weekend at Keys Vineyard Church, we will discuss all this and more, so be sure to join us in person or online.
